What's the McFLY 2015 project? It's a grassroots movement to get Nike to make available to consumers the futuristic-looking sneakers seen in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part 2.

from SFGATE:
San Francisco streetcar struck a man then dragged him for three blocks before stopping in a fatal accident in the Sunset District on Wednesday night that authorities described as gruesome.
The victim, who has not been identified, was apparently hit by an N-Judah streetcar on 31st Avenue and Judah Street at about 9:04 p.m. and dragged to 28th and Judah, said San Francisco police Sgt. Neville Gittens.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"I was told that it was a scene that stretched several blocks and it was very bloody," Gittens said.
The incident was the second Muni accident of the night. About an hour earlier, a streetcar struck a car at 44th Avenue and Taraval Street, injuring several people who were transported to San Francisco General Hospital, a Muni spokeswoman said.
The number of people hurt and the extent of their injuries had not yet been determined, she said.
In the Judah accident, Gittens said investigators had not determined how the man who was hit or what he was doing at the time.
"We don't know much about how it happened," he said. "There are a lot of unanswered questions."
Janis Yuen, the Municipal Railway spokeswoman, would only confirm that the N Judah train was heading toward downtown and that "a light rail vehicle and a person made contact."
She said buses were running between 19th Avenue and the beach and trains were running between 19th Avenue and downtown while authorities investigated the scene.
"It's currently under investigation and so now the police take over," she said.
On January 7, a 90-year-old woman was injured when she was hit by an N Judah on the corner of 9th Avenue and Irving Street.

da Wizard
Monki: One thing that has always bugged me is the dinosaurs in the movie. Is that something that was written into the script or was that something you knew about or...
Todd Holland: It was a whole thing... and the thing with the script is it had heart, but it was missing a lot and so I went and pitched that whole California thing. It wasn't in the script at all.
Monki: Oh wow.
Todd Holland: I pitched and I said... because the end at the original script, Jimmy literally takes that lunch box, and I have the original script to show you, he takes that lunch box and heaves it out the car window and it lands in a river and sinks. I was like "OK, his sister drowned, so how could he possibly heave his lunch box out of a car and let it sink in a river?" I picked this whole thing about him saying something that nobody understands, like what if he's saying something like "California" and nobody knows what that means, but really he knows what he means, because in the script I came on board to do, he was just wondering all of the time and wasn't going anywhere. I said "What if he's actually going somewhere as though he's on a mission? And that that sets us on the road journey and then... what if it's someplace that they all forgot about, like those dinosaurs on the 10?" and they went for it. The writer wrote it in and the studio liked it. They wrote it in and we were two thirds through the movie now, we had been to Nevada and come back to LA.

high class hookers

Yah, so this is real nice... there was supposedly a high class hooker bust last week here in South San Francisco. SFist posted the story, and then the comments started aflowin' including this one:
"When I lived at the Aurora (4th/Harrison above Whole Foods), there was a lot of resident speculation that some of the ladies up there were higher class working girls. Heard this from several other residents, so it probably wasn't just our imagination. . ."
Oooo.. that's nice. Hookers right above Whole Foods! How convenient! But, are they organic?
no pants
Hmm.. while "no pants" day may seem like a funny/good idea, reports from the field indicate that it was actually not such a great idea.
Mildly humorous, sure. A few cute girls, perhaps. But really, it really just reminds us that pants really protect us from having to see the scarily bare legs of our fellow public transportation riders.
Yah. So, um. Pants please. Thanks.
